Hi, looking for help please. My great uncle William Edward Trimmer who was in the 2nd Battalion the Rifle Brigade (i am his great nephew) died of wounds on 6th February 1915 and is buried in the Wimereux communial cemetery in France. I am going to visit him soon, i believe i am the only person to do so in my family. I am assuming that he was in the military hospital near to the cemetery. Hi, this is my first post on this forum so Hello to everyone. I have several letters written to my Grandfather by a Pte Frank Stringer 39023 who was with 1st South Lancs in Quetta, India during the 1WW. The letters contain details of the celebrations/parades for the end of the war and details of life out in the hill station towards the end of the war. Hello, i had a great uncle who`s name was Louis Romanini service no: s/14862 who died on monday the 7th august 1916 on the somme. i have found his grave in Vermelles cemetry (which next year i shall visit) and i cannot find-out where he died, the nearest i can get is somewhere near Pozieres. If this is so then why is his grave about 50 miles away? he was in the 2nd battalion rifle brigade 8th division 25th brigade 4th army under general Rawlinson as i beleive.
